A day at Sea photographing from close quarters the 2023 Ocean Globe Race

TimeLine Events are pleased to announce that in 2023 we will be taking to the water to capture the beginning of this epic around the world race that will be starting in Southampton.

Back in 1973 the first Whitbread around the world race took place, and now 50 years later the Ocean Globe Race will kick off in celebration to mark the anniversary. There will be 3 classes of boat named after the original Whitbread boats from 1973 and the first leg of the race will be 6660 miles, with the race total being 27,000 miles! It's an 8 month race around the world by ordinary sailors in ordinary boats with strict rules limiting high tech materials to add to the challenge. Stopovers will include Cape Town, Auckland and Punta del Este, before finishing back in Southampton in April 2024. For more information about the race click here.


Our day will see us depart from Ocean Village and capture the competitors as they set sail around the Needles and head out to open water.

Tickets to this special photo experience are limited to 11 to ensure plenty of space on our private photography boat so to avoid disappointment we highly recommend early booking.
