About this event

We are delighted to announce a return to Laredo Town but this time for something a little different- an evening shoot running across sunset for the golden hour then into darkness under the light of oil lamps and candles focused in the Saloon to create the perfect environment for atmospheric and authentic wild west portraiture. The Laredo saloon bar situated in the town hotel is the perfect setting for an evening of great photography and the saloon is fully and authentically furnished with a bar, tables, piano and large central staircase with an upper balcony allowing for shots to also be taken from above. As well as the saloon we will also have use of the outside of the street and some of the other buildings and we hope (weather permitting) a campfire scene. This event will take place in Kent around 30 minutes drive from Gravesend.

We will have a host of wild west characters available for you to capture who will be partaking in evening activities such as drinking, gambling and piano playing. As well as oil lamps and candles we will also have some constant lighting available to use should you wish. Low light photography offers atmospheric opportunities that you cannot get during the day so this is the perfect opportunity to capture something a bit different at Laredo.

We have organised exclusive access to this private site that is not usually open to the public. Laredo Town represents the American Wild West as it would have been in 1865 to 1889 - arguably one of the most authentic wild west street in the world! The town has a huge variety of different buildings, out main focus will be main hotels saloon bar but we will also have use of the outside of the street and a few more buildings that will be lit without any electricity and we also hope to have an outside campfire weather permitting.

Each and every building in the town is owned by a Laredo member. The members are western enthusiasts and history experts and the town hosts members weekends when the members come and stay in their buildings and enjoy a weekend dressed in authentic western clothing and partaking in traditional western activities. We will be photographing on one of these members weekends so we will have a wide variety of different characters to capture around the town.

There will be 2 sessions running on this day, this one from 17:30-20:30 and then we have an afternoon shoot from 13:00-16:00. If you would like to book both sessions we are offering a 50% off the afternoon session (PRP £125): use code: WILDWEST50 to get £62.50 off when booking when you have both the night and day shoot in your basket, put this is code in the offer code box. Please note this code is only valid for booking both events on the 17/10/2026 at Laredo Town. Both shoots being in very different lighting conditions will offer very varied photography opportunities.

Our team will set up cinematic lighting and smoke effects throughout the evening.

History
Laredo was founded in 1971 by keen western enthusiast John Truder, and a group of like-minded friends. John (JT to his friends) had been around horses since he was a young boy, and had owned and bred them on his small-holding for years. Laredo Western Club was formed when the group started to grow and needed a more structured organisation. The beginnings of the town started some years later and has gradually grown to what you see today.

We will have a large amount of space with many different buildings and around 10-15 wild west re-enactors, so there will be plenty of photography opportunities.
