About this event
Fairey Gannet AEW3
Now added to the cast of Airframes!
Yes it really was 25 years ago that a US lead campaign went to war in "Operation Granby/Desert Storm", to remove Iraq from Kuwait! It was the early 1990’s and the RAF still had a fantastic array of aircraft, and it is some of these airframes that make up the contents of our Autumn return to the Yorkshire Air Museum. Come and join us for a fantastic opportunity to photograph them at Sunset and into the night under the flood lights.
Main Photography
features:
Late afternoon access.
Sunset Shoot.
Night Photography with planes under the
spotlights.
Aircraft lights on.
Re-Enactors in period kit.
Over 4 hours of photography.
Featured Air Frames:
BAe Nimrod MR2 XV250
Handley Page Victor V-bomber XL231 "Lusty
Lindy”
Blackburn Buccaneer
S.2B XX901
More aircraft will be added in the coming weeks.
Our event will see the aircraft posed around the main Pan and Hangar, with re-enactors on hand to increase the realism of each cameo. As ever we are hopeful of some stunning Autumnal light as the sun sets and before we turn on our flood lights to bring you a further dimension to these former Gulf War/Cold War veterans. We will have untethered access to the planes from 17.00 until 21.00 with plenty of space around each airframe to allow lots of different photographic angles.
At this time we are waiting on further news of other Aircraft availability and will update this page with news as soon as we have it.
Event cost £55.00 per person, including a burger or hot dog and hot drink
from the Naafi.
