A day underground recreating scenes from the Cold War in a Nuclear Bunker, Wednesday 22nd August 2018 PM

This photoshoot at hack green bunker marks a bit of a departure from the usual!  We will go back to the dark days of the Cold War when Britain, her allies and the Soviet forces prepared for the real threat of an onset nuclear war. Hack Green itself was built in the 1970s as a rotor bunker and was used to help plot a nuclear attack on the country. It was manned by RAF personnel and as such we will have RAF re-enactors about the cold concrete corridors in various roles for our photography bring this once chilling centre of doom to life.

As the bunker is now a museum there are also several rooms which have been equipped to represent not just civilian and military forces from the Western forces but also from the Warsaw pact as well. There is a small Russian radio room which will be manned during the day as well a large fire brigade control centre which we hope to use and also the dormitories and hospital room of the bunker as well. There is the BBC studio and also the telephone exchange which would have been manned by civilians and we hope to use these to so that we can create some interesting historical imagery from this time.

We will also be outside for some of the shoot as there are military vehicles on site that will be at our disposal to capture our re-enactors around. In addition there are many other outside scenes and locations for us to explore with our reenactors. All of our re-enactors will be fully equipped and ready for action and with the use of lighting and smoke machines we also hope to have some troops in nuclear biological and chemical warfare equipment, emerging through the enemy's weapons of destruction! The bunker also contains a royal Observer Corps plotting room which we hope to use as well with re-enactors plotting the effects of a third world WAR.

If these places fascinate you and intrigue you but you just want to explore and photograph away from the group and without re-enactors, maybe just capturing the fear that is clearly associated with such a venue but without the public in shot then this shoot is equally for you given that we have exclusive access.

We have exclusive use of the bunker as it is not open to the public on the day of our visit.
