About this event
We are pleased to be returning to the Andover Steam Yard in 2021 for a run out into the Hampshire Countryside before setting up a road working scene as once seen up and down the land. We will start out day at the Yard photographing the engines being bought up to full steam before heading out on the lanes around Hampshire. Next stop the local public house for lunch before continuing our journey up and down the lanes stopping for pictures on the way, to where we will set up camp and create cameos that were once an everyday scene.
As the sun sets we will light the scenes with our lights and continue photography a while longer. Then those who want to, can stay for an evening BBQ cooked on one of the engines. And those who are really hardened can even camp over night, have a drink and catch the engines being bought back to steam the following morning.
The Andover yard is home to an extraordinary collection of steam road and portable engines (not to mention the occasional vintage tractor). Our day will see many various types of engine in steam. With the possibility of around three rollers in steam, plus two steam tractors and these will be joined by other unique treats from the private collection. In addition, we hope to have a small number of period cars and a vintage motorcycle to use in some cameo scenes.
Expect plenty of action around the yard, out on the lanes during the day and then at our final destination where we will be demonstrating rolling, stone crushing and laying farm lanes.
This should provide a wealth of photographic opportunities and we look forward to seeing you at the Andover Steam Yard in April.
