About this event

Professional photography trainer Clive Greenland will be leading this day, and will be teaching you the best settings and techniques to achieve sharp and stunning wildlife images! This day promises to offer the perfect combination of theory and on the field experience to boost your confidence and skills!

Mere Down Falconry is a private centre not open to the public. Its located on a working farm and has over 800 acres to fly on if required. Set in the Wiltshire countryside with a scenic Valley and Whitesheet Hill close to the training ground, Mere Down is located just 5 minutes off the A303.

This a unique event limited to just 12 places, located in a rural location. Our photography will include portrait opportunities and will include two flying demonstrations. We will have our own dedicated falconer on hand to engage and explain each bird to us and indeed put the birds through their paces on our behalf.

Our photography will include birds such as European Eagle Owl, Merlin, Peregrine Falcon, Turkey Vulture and Lugger Falcon to name only a few! Not only will you be able to capture these beautiful birds in flight, but you will also get the chance to capture statics and get really up close and personal with the birds!

Arrival time 09:30 - 09.45 for introductions and drinks – Start time 10:00 with Clive Greenland leading a session on how to best capture portraits and birds in flight.  We will then get out onto the field and start our bird photography at around 11:00 for approximately one hour. Then back to the lecture room to have the opportunity to recap on what has been learned breaking for lunch at around 12.30. After lunch we will enjoy the second flying demonstration of the faster birds before heading back to the lecture room for a Q & A session, finishing around 16:00 hours.

Photography can be very rewarding and difficult all at the same time and this event will really push the boundaries of both of those statements with birds in flight.

Price includes, tea / coffees, photography training and two flying displays!

This event has limited spaces and we expect tickets to sell fast for this unique experience so urge early booking to avoid disappointment!
