About this event
With the sad news that our original motive power choice for this event now not visiting the railway, due to her 'failing' we have been given the fantastic opportunity to now use Warship Class 42, Greyhound as our replacement locomotive for the day. Not a bad runner up in our opinion.
Warships were once a common sight on the Great Western Mainline replacing Kings and Castles as the mainstay of Express motive power so we feel the sight of a Warship on the GCR mainline especially at Swithland where there is a good amount of GWR Signalling will be a sight for sore eyes as recreations such as this don't present themselves to often.
Our day will start ar Loughborough at circa 07.30 and we will have sole line occupation for the day but will be concentrating our photography in the double track section for obvious reasons. As well as using a rake of MK1 Coaches we will also have the option to swap to the recently restored rake of Bauxite BoxVans during the day, thus recreating a scene from when event the Hydraulic Diesels were being phased out on the Great Western.
D821 Greyhound is currently sporting a Maroon Livery so will look very at home at the head of a rake of BR Maroon MK1 Coaches as well as the Vans.
We hope you will want to join us for this event and given the short notice of the change of Loco news we recommend early an early booking.
This event is being run in conjunction with Jason Cross or EMRPS Charters.
