About this event
Due to the success of the photo-walks we ran in the winter of 2019, we are back in a brand new London location for another evening of atmosphere and history! This Victorian themed photography walk will be taking us to some of the most authentic and historical back streets of London in the Blackfriars area that are full of interesting tales from days gone by! With streetlights and brickwork these London alleys will provide us with the perfect backdrops to capture our Victorian re-enactors, who will be convincingly dressed for the times! Taking place after dark we will be creating a series of atmospheric and eye catching images, and with the use of our own lighting and models we will be re-creating iconic street scenes from the Victorian era. One of our re-enactors is also a professional guide, so I am sure they will share a story or two from times gone by!
We will meet at Blackfriars station on the south side of the Thames entrance on Southbank at 19:30 for a brief and welcome, and then we will commence the tour at 19:45, finishing up at around 22:45 in the Blackfriars area. Areas we will visit will include some of the following: Roupell Street, St Andrew by the Wardrobe Church, Wardrobe Court, St Paul's Cathedral, the ruins of Greyfriars church, exterior of the Old Bailey and St Sepulcre's.
This event will be limited to a small group of photographers and we will have at least 4 re-enactors available for you to photograph. All of the fantastic images above were taken by attendees from our last photo-walk.
