About this event

A day that will surround you will ornate Victorian engineering, steam punk and fashion portraits! We will have exclusive access to this fantastic Pump House that was built by Sir Joseph Bazalgette for London's sewage system and opened in 1865. Crossness is a Grade 1 Listed building and features some of the most spectacular ornamental Victorian cast ironwork found in the world today. A large amount of the restoration and up-keep work done here is by volunteers, so we are delighted to support the care of this fantastic venue.

For those that are not aware of this almost cult like area, Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. Although its literary origins are sometimes associated with the cyberpunk genre, steampunk works are often set in an alternative history of the 19th century's British Victorian, in a post-apocalyptic future during which steam power has maintained mainstream usage, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power. Therefore, steampunk may be described as neo-Victorian.

As well as the quirky Steam punk models we will also have a Joleyne, our fashion model who will be availabe for you to photograph who is pictured above.

To aid photography and social distancing this day will be limited to just 14 photographers.

Our session will start at around 14.00 where we will begin by taking architectural images and have a look around the site until 15:00. Then our models will start posing for our cameras around the pump house. The session will run until 17:00 (exact timings will be confirmed before the day but the session will be 3 hours long). There will also be an identical 3 hour session running in the morning.

There is onsite parking available and the site is 2 miles from Belvedere Station. Hot drinks will be provided and are included but there is no food catering on site so please bring your own provisions.

*Please note that due to this being a restricted site we will need your car registration numbers in advance if you would like to use the free on-site parking.

Currently all of our events will run in line with our Covid-19 policy that follows government guidelines. You can find our Covid-19 policy information page here.
