About this event

Join us for this informative environmental portrait training day that will aim to push the boundaries of your photography! The use of light is key to taking eye catching portraiture, and what better place to experiment than a huge Victorian pump house, full of natural light and beautiful backdrops. As well as having our own exclusive use of this wonderful venue we will have a dedicated fashion model and a professional portrait photography trainer. The main focus of the day will be using the natural light around you, but we will also have some lighting and reflectors available to use.

Your trainer for the day will be award winning photographer Panikos Hajistilly:

Panikos has won dozens of National Awards with his imagery, including the prestigious MPA Master Photographer of the Year in 2017/18. He has a Fellowship with the MPA, a Master Craftsman with the Guild of Photographers and a Fellow with the SWPP and the BIPP. His work speaks for itself, in that you will always see "clean” images with great connection, expressions and a relaxed feel to the photos he creates. A lot of his time is now spent teaching his lighting styles to professional and amateur photographers alike. Panikos has his own home studio where he does most of his work using both natural and studio light – or a combination of the two. He also loves working on location, whether it’s in the great outdoors or in the city. Panikos has vast experience in photographing everything from maternity, newborns, babies and families, portraits as well as pets of all types.

The aim of this day is to bring your portrait photography to the next level, expanding your knowledge and giving you the chance to try new things, all with your professional trainer on hand to offer advice and assistance. We just advise that you have knowlede of ISO, shutter speed and Aperture and have some experience using your camera on manual mode to get the most out of this day.

What to expect:
A beautiful venue with a photography opportunity everywhere you turn
A professional fashion model who will model in a few different outfits
A professional portrait photography trainer
The opportunity to take outstanding portrait imagery and learn new photography techniques
A relaxed training environment where participants are encouraged to ask questions and try new things
Free tea and coffee
