About this event

Join us for this informative and practical day of photography trainig and learning. You will learn how to use the built-in camera modes, aperture priory and shutter priory modes as well as exploring many more settings in your camera. The training offers the perfect combination of theory and practical hands-on training to boost your confidence and skills! Are you struggling to get eye catching images? On this course we aim to give you the understanding and skills that you need to make the most out of your camera by use of the correct modes and settings.  Other photography skills such as creativity, style, composition and impact within an image will be taught to make your photos excel!

The course is non-technical and is intended for anyone who wishes to learn the basics of using a digital camera. Professional photography trainer Clive Greenland will be leading this day, and will be teaching you the best settings and techniques to achieve stunning and sharp images.

The training will be held at the Hawk Conservancy Trust, which will provide a fantastic opportunity to practice portraits of birds of prey.  You will learn how to set ISO, aperture and shutter speed for your chosen genre of photography.  For example, the correct use of aperture to blur the background and provide a centre of interest is key to making your photos stand out from the crowd.

The training is limited to just 12 places, we will have our own dedicated training room with studio set-up for the practical hands-on sessions, it’s not all theory and you will have fun learning and take lots of images throughout the day. In the afternoon session you will have an opportunity to put into practice what you have learnt with a Birds of Prey portrait shot!

Arrival time from 10:00 for tea and coffee, start time 10:30. We will break for an inclusive lunch at around 12.30 and finish at 4:30.  There will be comfort breaks throughout the training with tea and coffee provided.  The Hawk Conservancy is open to 5:30, which will provide an opportunity to have a look around the birds of prey and use the skills learnt on the training day to snap a few more images.

There will be ample space on this training day for social distancing.

Price includes tea, coffees, lunch, photography training and birds of prey portrait shot.
This training day has limited spaces and we expect tickets to sell fast for this unique experience combining training and an opportunity to photography birds of prey, so urge early booking to avoid disappointment!
