About this event
Come and visit one of the gems of Wales: Snowdonia National Park! There are lots of locations in Snowdonia from coastal views of distant mountains, lakes and waterfalls and wide-ranging views of mountains including Snowdon and Tryfan. On this days workshop we will visit lots of attractive photographic locations such as Beddgellert, Llanberis, Llynnau Mymbyr/Capel Curig, Llynnau Cregennen, Llyn Ogwen, Harlech Castle & Mawddach Estuary. In March the area will be starting to emerge from winter and there could be early spring colours or indeed still snow on the mountain tops to help make great images. We will be running 2 days back to back, each day visiting different locations so you can join us for either one or two days photography with expert guidance from professional landscape photographer Don Bishop.
Book both days and get £20 off, use code: WALES20
Bring your camera and lenses, filters and a sturdy tripod to maximise the opportunities available as you’ll have a wide variety of landscape subjects to capture from running water to reflections in lakes and dramatic skies. Don Bishop will be on hand throughout the day offering tips and advice and his in depth knowledge of weather, light and the local area will be an invaluable asset to maximising the photography experience.
The day will start early in the morning (exact timings and location will be confirmed) by heading out to our first location for some early light and covering 2/3 locations including a short refreshment break in the morning before we take a lunch break in a local pub/café and then continue into the afternoon through until sunset. We will be running 2 consecutive days (22nd & 23rd March 2022), both visiting different locations and for those requiring overnight accommodation Don will use a local hotel for B&B and dinner and you can choose to stay nearby or over with us in the same hotel (depending on availability) and do both days if you wish to maximise your opportunities. We plan to car share and will have 2 large cars available to give lifts (depending on the numbers we may require a volunteer driver to take a passenger or two and they will be fully re-imbursed for petrol).
This really is a great time of year to visit Snowdonia with ample photography opportunities.
Don Bishop has been a keen enthusiast photographer for over 30 years, he went full time professional in 2006 and increased the time spent on landscape subjects and now has a comprehensive collection of fine art prints available of coast, country and mountain areas of the UK and runs his own gallery based in Cheddar.
