About this event

Join us this Autumn for a re-enactment shoot in a brand new and fantastic location- York Castle Museum where we will be bringing their replica Victorian streets to life with authentic re-enactors. On this evening shoot we will focus around creating atmospheric and eye catching night street scenes similar to those that we have done in the past at the Milestones Museum. With a host of authentically dressed Victorians spread out around the site we will bring the scenes to life with our portable lighting to create unique imagery from this photogenic era.

There will be no need to bring your wet weather gear as this event is house all inside the comforts of the museum, making it a great event to enjoy this Autumn. As well as our re-enactors TimeLine staff will be on hand to set up scenes, provide photography tips and set up lighting. This promises to be a highly enjoyable evening of photography with the opportunity to set up your own creative shots and we look forward to welcoming you to our first event in this fantastic city.

We will have exclusive use of the Victorian street after the public have left and this is the most iconic part of York Castle Museum. The street is one of the oldest recreated indoor streets of its kind in the world, possibly the oldest, and the first to be opened in Britain. Most of the shop fronts are genuine buildings that were moved to the museum brick by brick, even the cobbles streets are authentic Victorian cobbles! Each shop and business on Kirkgate is named after a real business that operated in late Victorian York and new museum research means that every single shop on the street is now based on a real York business, all of which operated here between 1870 and 1901.

This event will all run inside and we have arranged for the museum cafe to stay open for a few hours so you can get a hot drink or snack on arrival.

*Please note images are to illustrate the location, re-enactors will vary.
