About this event

We are delighted to announce, in conjunction with the Stroud Vintage Transport & Engine Club, our first event at South Cerney using a selection of vehicles from the amazing collection of exhibits that gather on site each year for a spectacular vintage gathering. We will commence photography around 17.30 once the show ground has quietened down after the departure of the visiting public at 17.00. and will set up a number of cameo scenes in evening light, at dusk and just after nightfall with photography expected to continue until approximately 22.30 hours. Refreshments will be available from various outlets on site during the evening, so there is no need to go hungry or thirsty!

This will be the 43rd annual show which takes place over three days, Friday 4th, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August 2017. The 2016 show was the most successful ever, and the 2017 event promises to be just as good. All forms of vintage transport are represented here, and we are already at work securing some high quality exhibits to take part in our photo shoot.

The show itself usually plays host to over fifty full size road steam engines, agricultural and rollers, and over 200 heritage commercials. More than 300 cars are expected dating from 1900 until the early 1980s and over eighty entries fill the bus and coach section; from this, coupled with one or two 'period props' and appropriately-dressed re-enactors, we should be able to draw an enviable selection to take part in our after hours event. Included amongst the scenes we intend to set up is the fairground at dusk with working steam included in the photographs which should be splendidly atmospheric.

During the day on Saturday (and Sunday) the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will support the extravaganza with a fly-past from Douglas C47 Dakota ZA947; painted to represent Dakota FZ692 of 233 Squadron, the aircraft has been with BBMF since 1992. Subject, of course, to good weather and suitable flying conditions. Add to this hundreds of vehicles, ring displays, dancing tractors, refreshments aplenty including a vintage tea room and a massive trade stall area, there should be plenty to amuse you (and your partner) throughout the day before our photography begins at around 17.30.

SVTEC is a non-profit making organisation that supports a variety of charities including Diabetes UK, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Army Benevolent Fund and the British Heart Foundation. The aim is to provide an excellent event for families and enthusiasts whilst also providing a showcase for some fantastic vehicles of all descriptions which have been lovingly preserved and restored for the benefit of future generations.

The satellite navigation address for the site is GL7 5DQ with the entrance being in Northmoor Lane, just off the A419 Cirencester to Swindon road.

Cost will be £59.00 per person for our evening event which includes admission to the rally itself during the Saturday of the event (10.00-17.00).

We hope you will want to join us for this special Summer Saturday evening

of photography.
