TimeLine Events are pleased to bring you a second opportunity for a pioneering evening of learning with Professional Image Maker and trainer Mark Higgins. An event that will enable you to push the boundaries of what you and your photography is capable of. Immerse yourself in the inspirational surroundings of Didcot Railway Centre and achieve imagery that you will be proud of. With historic locomotives and professional re-enactors dressed in period clothing at your disposal, this will prove an amazing opportunity to recreate those atmospheric railway scenes that you always wanted to take for yourself.

This event is open to 12 photographers only. 

This event is not just for making amazing imagery, we have planned the evening for the enthusiast and keen amateur photographers that not only strive to make great pictures but also wishes to further the knowledge of their camera equipment, approaches and techniques.

Our professional photography trainer Mark Higgins is a well known and respected throughout the industry, now a freelance photographer and trainer Mark will be known to many as the former training manager at Nikon UK. Mark’s camera knowledge second to none and his ability to present in a informative and relaxed manner will make for a great evening. In addition to Mark we will also have other trained professionals on hand during the night to tutor and provide tips and tricks ensuring everyone gets great pictures and walks away with more in depth understanding of their camera equipment and how to get the best out of it after dark.

We will explore, discuss and put into practice the following, during the event:

  • Creative approaches and compositional ideas
  • Focussing in low light situations
  • Getting the best out of your lens and using depth of field 
  • Balancing your shutter speed, aperture and ISO for low light photography
  • Shooting hand held and with a tripod in low lights situations
  • Tips on metering and low key photography
  • Using a live model and directing your subject
  • Thinking about colour, file formats and post processing

 

During the event there will be sufficient opportunity not only to record the inspirational scenery but also to speak with the tutor on a one to one basis. We will have review sessions throughout the night to ensure that everyone has made the best of their time with us with short Q&A sessions and image reviews.

  • Spare battery
  • Your favourite lens/lenses
  • spare memory cards
  • A tripod
  • Something to make notes with
  • A torch and appropriate clothing

 

This event is ideal for the longer hours of darkness that we will have at this time of year, starting at around 17.00 we will aim to finish around 22.00. 

Event cost £110.00 per person.
