About this event

After a break of nearly a year we are pleased to be back pounding the streets of the Capital with two iconic London Buses, one the ever so pretty RTL139, the other STL441. The latter being a first for us, this will be our first outing with STL441, a beautiful pre War gem that like RTL139 is part of the Cobham Collection at Brooklands. Our evening will see us take these wonderful icons of London to a number of perfect locations around the City and West End of London where we will pose them and a handful of re-enactors for photography.

Starting this event from the Museum at Brooklands we will travel in style aboard RTL139 into London arriving at our first location in Parliament Square for around 18.30. However we understand some of you would prefer to join us in Town so once you have booked your place just drop us an email to let us know you will join the trip in Parliament Square. From here we will travel to locations like Smith Square and Tate Briton before heading into the City for locations like the Bank of England and Tower Bridge. We will also hit the West End and visit a few of the Capital’s tourist spots like Piccadilly and Theatre Land before heading back to Brooklands via Parliament Square.

Both of our buses saw plenty of service on the streets of the Capital with STL441 entering service in 1934 having originally been ordered by the London General Omnibus Company, but not delivered until after the formation of London Transport. She was finally withdrawn from service in 1952 at Streatham Garage. RTL139 the newer of the two entered service with London Transport at Riverside Garage in 1949, with three major overhauls under her belt she was finally withdrawn in 1967.

These buses are London icons as famous say as Flying Scotsman or Buckingham Palace, RT's were finally withdrawn from service in the mid 1970's but like so many things Britain is famous for they will never be forgotten. Add to this, our icons of vintage transport will be joined by a handful of wonderful re-enactors that will play the part of passengers on and off the bus. These hardworking volunteers bring so much to this kind of event and make our scenes stand out and a faithful recreation of Britain’s past.

Our night of photography will run for approximately 6 hours and will see us return to Brookland’s at around 2.00am.

Please note this event is restricted to 20 photographers to aid photography at some of the tighter locations. So to avoid disappointment please book your place early.

Event cost £85.00 per person.
