What better way to enjoy the Summer, than with a day of exhilarating action on The Solent chasing some of the World's best Yachtsmen and women followed by an evening watching the Red Arrows form the Solent and then the Cowes Fireworks. Cowes week brings 100's of yachts and sailors of all classes to the Isle of Wight and more importantly to the relatively small area of water that is The Solent. With around 40 daily races Cowes week is now the largest sailing regatta in the world.
Our day will start at Ocean Village, Southampton at around 10.30am where we set sail for Cowes and the main hub of activity. During the day we will visit locations like the Yarmouth where many of the racing yachts will be seen jostling for position during their races. After the racing has finished we will go a shore at Cowes to grab a meal before heading back out on the Solent to get ourselves a prime location ahead of the Red Arrows Display. Then its back on to dry land for a drink or two before the Fireworks. We will return to Ocean Village around 10.30pm after what is hoped a great day out capturing all the action up close and personal and for the first time with us the Reds and Fireworks. A fantastic day and evening afloat taking in many different opportunities.
Places are limited to 11 due to insurance and the boat we will be aboard. Our boat for the day is Anchorman, a large Catamaran that is perfect for photography with its large rear deck and top speed of 28knots. Dave our skipper is an extremely experienced sailor with over 20 years of sailing the Solent under his belt, not to mention his time as a Calshot Lifeboatman. So you are assured of a great safe day in the thick of all the action.
