What better way to enjoy the Summer, than with a day of exhilarating action on The Solent chasing some of the World's best Yachtsmen and women. The Panerai British Classic week brings together 100's of yachts and sailors of all classes to the Isle of Wight and more importantly to the relatively small area of water that is The Solent. Since 2002 when ten yachts attended the inaugural BCYC regatta held in Cowes this event has grown and grown and is now a week-long regatta of rallying and racing split into many classes.
So why not join us for a day of photography with these wonderful classic yachts, some dating back to before the Second World War.
Our day will start at Ocean Village, Southampton at around 10.30am where we set sail for the races and the main hub of activity. During the day we will visit locations like the Needles and Yarmouth where many of the yachts will be seen jostling for position during their races. We will return to Ocean Village around 5.30pm after what is hoped a great day out capturing all the action up close and personal.
Places are limited to 11 due to insurance and the boat we will be aboard. Our boat for the day is Anchorman, a large Catamaran that is perfect for photography with its large rear deck and top speed of 28knots. Dave our skipper is an extremely experienced sailor with over 20 years of sailing the Solent under his belt, not to mention his time as a Calshot Lifeboatman. So you are assured of a great safe day in the thick of all the action.
