I attended the recent TLE end of year gathering and photoshoot at Papplewick pumping station. The event was well organised by Neil and his team, there were plenty of models and re-enactors attending the event which kept us all busy and cameras clicking. The models and re-enactors were of the highest calibre with some bringing along their vintage cars and motorbikes. The pumping stations victorian setting made for a great backdrop and portable lighting setups were available for deployment as you liked. Altogether a fantastic day out and one that I would highly recommended. Nigel Stewart

Ropley station evening shoot: I think the light was in our favor. The reenactors were impeccably turned out. The staff at Watercress were very accommodating and of course TLE organisation was top notch. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening shoot. I think I captured some shots I will keep. I know I haven't been shy posting them on my forums. I'm a member of Watercress, I think it has some fabulous locations to photograph. Some of the images I've seen from the other participants are beautifully presented. I've definitely picked up some tips & tricks. Looking forward to revisiting Watercress with TLE in the near future. My wife and I attended our first event at the Hawk Conservancy last Friday. The weather did its best to ruin the day but Neil and the staff at the Hawk Conservancy always seemed have a plan B. We both enjoyed the day and cannot wait to book another. Thanks Neil for everything.

HSL 102/SS Waverley-Needles Event - The weather was changable, the sea calm and the light was simply fantastic. Taking pictures of HSL 102 on her way over to Lymington and then onto The Needles was sublime. As always the boat was skippered to give the photographers the best opportunities to get our pictures. With the Needles backdrop fantastic images were to be had. A sharp rain shower changed the lighting into something very dramatic. We meet up with the Waverley and were able to get pictures of the 2 historic boats togther and then close ups of the Waverely when docked. The icing on the cake for us photographers was the appearance twice of the Coastguard Helicopter on the second time putting a paramedic on board our boat for training purposes. A great day of photography was had by all.

Attended the recent events to photograpgh High Speed Launch 102 and Motor Gun Boat 81 at Portsmouth. The weather was kind in the morning but the afternoon was less so. The trip was excellent both boats were put through their paces in the Solent with the photographer in mind. There were plenty of opportunities to get close up's as well as the more distant shots. Background for the shots varied from the dockyard, historic Portsmouth, the Solent Forts and white cliffs round the IOW. Took plenty of shots surprisingly many were in focus and very photogenic. The boat trip on Anchorman its self was a great experience, getting wet, losing balance but still managing to take pictures. I think everyone had big smiles on their faces when we returned. Neil and his staff made the day very enjoyable and it ran like clockwork. The volunters running the historic boats were very friendly and did everything we asked. The reenactors added just the right amount of colour. I would highly recommend this event.

I had my first experience with Timeline Events on Monday 28th August at Didcot Railway Centre with two giants - 60103 Flying Scotsman & 60009 Union Of South Africa. First to be able to photograph there two locos together is a dream come true and Timeline Events made this happen. I found the hole experience a fantastic and enjoyable one with lots and lots of wonderful photos to cherish. I've even had one made into a jigsaw puzzle. They provide fantastic backdrops and reenactors to the events which makes the hole theme come to life. I met some lovely people there as well. I recommend anyone who is interested in photography should experience these wonderful events, well worth the money and I can't wait to do another one - don't tell the wife though!
