About this event

After the sun has set we will be creating eye catching and dramatic scenes after dark! We will have a professional fire dancer in full costume with fire props and sticks and Victorian re-enactor workmen who will be spread out around the site ready to create historic and unique imagery in dramatic lighting. With the use of our smoke machines and lights this promises to be a unique photography experience that will push the boundaries of your creativity. Amongst the arches and machinery of this huge venue you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to photography opportunities. Capture our historic re-enactors and fire dancer and see the Victorian ironwork gleam!

Our fire artist will be Niash:

Our Victorians will be 3 of the wonderful Ragged Victorians including Padfoot & Mamma Wag:

This shoot will be run by Emily Mudie, Emily works on film sets and has seen the opportinities that darkness can bring to photography and will be setting up constant cinematic lighting to really make your images stand out.

Crossness is probably one of the best examples of decorative Victorian engineering there is, and a large number of volunteers take part in restoration projects to help keep this venue alive and looking its best. We will have access to the restored and unrestored areas, so there will be a variety of colourful polished backdrops as well as more derelict areas, both offering fantastic photography opportunities.

Hot drinks are included and available throughout the event.

We require you to bring your own torch. Due to this being a restricted site we also require your car registration number so that you can have free on site parking. Please email this to us after booking or put it next to your name on the booking form when booking. Please note that you cannot arrive on foot (Thames water do not permitt people to walk along the road up the the museum), but if using public transport a taxi can be taken from the nearby Abbey Wood station for around £7.

We also have a shoot running here in the daytime from 10:00-16:30- portraits and dance phtography and you can book both shoots and get 10% off (£22.80 saving) by using the offer code: CROSSNESS

This code can only be used with both of the events at Crossness in your basket for the 21/10/23.
