A day on the Solent following the PS Waverley as she makes her way around the Isle of Wight, taking in some of the island's best locations as we go.

About this event
One of the most majestic vessels to grace the shores of the British Isles is returning to the Solent this September. Having spent time with this iconic ship the last couple year we couldn't resist setting sail with her once again this year. However this year we are only offering the one trip so don't miss out on a fantastic photographic opportunities with well over seven hours of photography time. At times this is fast action packed sailing as we speed around her capturing her from all angles! She's no sloth, with her averaging 16 knots as she makes her way around the island we will be working hard to keep ahead of her while capturing some iconic images! If you love engineering heritage and great ships this really is a great day out for you!
The 8th of September will see us on the Solent picking up with her outside of Southampton water's as she starts a trip steaming round the Isle of Wight. We will have the opportunity to photograph her with views such as the famous Needles Rocks with their lighthouse, the multi coloured sandstone cliffs of Alum Bay and the towering chalk cliffs of Freshwater Bay. View St Catherine's Point, the towns of Ventnor and Shanklin and the yachting Capital of Cowes. With the Sun setting we will return towards Portsmouth but peel off and head back to Southampton, leaving the Waverley to continue her onward journey.
Places are limited to 11 due to insurance and the boat we will be aboard. Our boat for the day is Anchorman, a large Catamaran that is perfect for photography with its large rear deck and top speed of 28knots. Dave our skipper is an extremely experienced sailor with over 20 years of sailing the Solent under his belt, not to mention his time as a Calshot Lifeboatman. So you are assured of a great safe day in the thick of all the action.
Start time from Ocean Village, Southampton for
this trip will be approx. 10.00 but confirmation will be sent out nearer the
time.
