About this event

It gives great pleasure to bring another day of mainline recreations with Britannia Class, Oliver Cromwell on the UK's only mainline preserved railway. Our second day will see her at the head of a lengthy mixed Freight train recreating a time when much of the UK's produce and goods were transported all over the Country by rail.

Our day will start from Loughborough Station at around 07.30 and we will work our way up the line visiting some of the best locations the railway has to offer before returning to Loughborough at Sunset. We will have full use of the line all day and in addition will hold a short night shoot, hopefully at Quorn. Our plan is to also include some night runs during the night shoot for those taking advantage of high ISO settings.

Oliver Cromwell was built at Crew in 1951 for British Railways and was one of the last steam locomotives to be withdrawn in August 1968. During her career she saw much service on many different routes all over the UK. At home on heavy freights as much as express passenger services the Britannia Class were very versatile locomotives that could cope with almost anything that was expected of them.

We hope you will take this rare opportunity to capture such an iconic locomotive in a mainline environment. Perhaps we might even see a little snow....

Event cost £70.00 per person.
