About this event
Owls in flight as the Sun goes down over the meadow.
Set in 22 acres of woodland and wildflower meadow, Andoverís Hawk Conservancy has over 150 birds of prey on view, from the tiny Pygmy Owl to the impressive Steller's Sea Eagles! Many of these birds are involved in spectacular daily flying demonstrations, whilst others are part of important breeding or environmental enrichment projects.
Our time at the Centre will centre around the British Birds at the Conservancy and will include flying demonstrations and close up opportunities. We will have our own dedicated falconers on hand to engage and explain each bird to us and indeed put the birds through their paces on our behalf.
Starting at around 13.30 with a short introduction before heading to the main arena for the public flying demonstration to get the session off to a bang that will see hundred's of photo opportunities. After this we will be treated to some fantastic close up static and flying demonstrations by our dedicated falconers who will fly a number of different birds especially for us. Starting later in the day will allow us to capture birds in flight as the sun goes down. It is our plan to be in the meadow late afternoon, early evening photographing the Centres Owls with the sun setting, allowing us to see these wonderful birds at the time of day when they would naturally be out hunting.
This event is limited to 20 photographers.
An average day will see you take around 1000 plus images!
Photography can be very rewarding and difficult all at the same time and this will really push the boudries of both of those statements.
