About this event
We are offering a special price for those that would like to attend both the day and evening shoot at Didcot. Spend the day capturing a variety of portraits and scenes (including a fire eater), and in the evening turn up your cameras ISO and bring out your tripods for an atmospheric session under moonlight!
Day:
Meeting at 13:30 for the short briefing we will have use of the whole site for photography. We will have a host of re-enactors setting up different scenes in different locations and also a fire eater who will be performing for our cameras. This promises to be a fun and varied day with plenty of photography opportunities. The day will finish up at about 18:00 and we will then get ready for the evening shoot after a break.
Night:
Our evening will start at around 19:30 and run until approx 23:00
but we will keep the end time flexible. We will be meeting outside the
cafe near the engine shed. Unfortunately, due to the current situation
it is likely the cafe will be closed so we would recommend bringing your
own food and drink provisions, but we will confirm this before the
evening. After our usual brief we will head out to start our
photography. We are planning a number of outside set pieces for you
around the site, down on the Branch and under the coal stage. The engine
shed will be open, but we will not officially be using it, however
attendees are welcome to photograph in there if they wish. We will
be actively encouraging you to find your own cameos as Didcot Railway
Centre offers so much for the photographer with a keen eye and an
interest in industrial heritage. You will not be disappointed with what
you will find to capture. Couple to this the atmosphere of a
Victorian Railway Depot, period dressed re-enactors, smoke machines,
plenty of time to be creative, and of course the Moon and we think you
will come away with some wonderful images.
This event has been designed to ensure that social distancing can be observed with ease. We are not enforcing the use of face masks and
gloves on our events but would encourage anyone who would like to wear
them to do so. We recommend that you do bring a small bottle of hand
sanitiser and follow the government guidelines at all times. Our aim is
to create a photography experience that is both safe and enjoyable and
will have you coming home with great photographs and memories.
