About this event
We are pleased to be able to offer a day of photography in Derbyshire using the beautifully-restored SON single-decker bus RC 7927. Built by Birmingham & Midland Motor Omnibus, the vehicle has been restored to the red and white livery of Trent Motor Traction
Trent Motor Traction 417 is the only survivor from the last batch of vehicles that Midland Red (BMMO) built for one of its fellow operators with a body constructed by Willowbrook. It was rediscovered by Trent in a field during the late 1970s and they completely rebuilt the vehicle some 25 years after it had originally left their service. Today, it has been superbly restored inside and outside, and is one of the flagships of the fleet based at Aldridge Road Transport Museum. We are delighted to be able to use this 76-year old single-decker for a trip back in time to the late-1940s to early-1950s era.
We aim to take the vehicle to a few from the
manifold scenic locations that the county has to offer and to augment our
cameos with appropriately-dressed re-enactors and vintage vehicles. There will
be a lunch break for both photographers and crews. We will advise on pick-up
point(s) once the charter is confirmed as running, one is likely to be
Ashbourne.
Please note that places will be strictly limited to ensure comfortable conditions for photography and travel. We hope a number of you will wish to join us for this Summer trip to the North Midlands with a beautifully-restored vehicle dating back to the Second World War.
Event Cost £49.00 per person.
